The story has not changed: a young prince flees his responsibilities after tragedy, builds a comfortable life in exile, and is eventually called back to face the truth and take his rightful place. Transformers One tells the origin of the friendship and eventual rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron before either became a legend. It is a story about loyalty, betrayal, and the price of idealism when it collides with hard reality -- themes that land for kids and hold up for adults. The traditional score of 18.48 reflects brotherhood, duty, and self-sacrifice woven throughout. The woke score of 2.0 is among the cleanest of any wide-release action film in 2024.

Dog Man (2025)
TRADITIONAL +19 TRADTake the kids. Seriously. Dog Man is 89 minutes of enthusiastic, clean chaos based on Dav Pilkey's beloved graphic novel series. The premise is wonderfully absurd: a policeman and his dog are both mortally wounded, so surgeons attach the dog's head to the officer's body. DreamWorks leaned into Pilkey's hand-drawn aesthetic in a way that feels genuinely fresh. The film's traditional score of 22.54 reflects a consistent theme of doing the right thing even when it is hard. A woke score of 3.35 is about as clean as modern animation gets in 2025.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

David is an animated biblical musical covering King David's story from his anointing by Samuel through his defeat of Goliath to his rise as Israel's king. The traditional score of 28 reflects deep themes of faith, courage, humility before God, and the idea that greatness comes to those who remain faithful when no one is watching. The film grossed $84 million on a $60.9 million budget -- proof the audience for values-driven family entertainment is real and hungry.
