Their relationship is built on mutual respect earned through shared history, not on sexual tension or ideological friction. Serinda Swan's Dixon and Shaun Sipos's O'Donnell return as part of the 110th Special Investigations Unit alumni network, and the show is smart enough to treat their loyalty to each other as a given rather than something that needs to be tested and broken for dramatic stakes. Ferdinand Kingsley's A.M. is a genuinely menacing antagonist: intelligent, patient, and devoid of the mustache-twirling that weaker shows use as a substitute for credible threat.
Season 4's action sequences continue to be the best in television. The fights are practical, brutal, and brief.
