Every 2025 Movie Ranked by Woke Score (Complete)

All 127 reviewed 2025 films ranked from most woke to most traditional. The complete VirtueVigil annual ranking covering every genre from Zootopia 2 to Ne Zha 2.

2025 was a year of genuine ideological divergence. Hollywood released its most overtly progressive films since the 2019-2020 woke peak, while simultaneously a wave of traditionally coded blockbusters, faith films, and action franchises delivered some of the highest traditional values scores VirtueVigil has ever recorded. The SpongeBob Movie landed at +42 TRAD. Ne Zha 2 hit +39 TRAD. Zootopia 2 cratered at -38 WOKE. The gap between the most traditional and most woke films in a single year has never been wider in our database.

This is the complete VirtueVigil ranking of every 2025 film and series we have reviewed -- 127 titles total, ranked from most woke to most traditional using the VirtueVigil Woke Score methodology. Scores measure ideological density and directional messaging, not quality. Every entry links to the full review. Start at the top to know what to avoid. Scroll to the bottom to find what to watch.

#78: Heads of State (2025)

TRADITIONAL LEAN MARGIN: +8 TRAD

Genre: Action Comedy / Spy Thriller • Platform: Prime Video

Heads of State wants to be two things at once: a politically sharp satire and a big dumb action comedy. It's better at the second than the first, which means audiences willing to meet it on its own terms will have a decent time.

TRADITIONAL LEAN MARGIN: +9 TRAD

Genre: Animation/Comedy • Platform: Theatrical (Universal Pictures)

The original Bad Guys was a pleasant surprise: a DreamWorks animated film that used French New Wave aesthetics and a genuinely clever premise to deliver one of the more entertaining family films of 2022. The sequel is more of the same with one significant caveat.

#84: Havoc (2025)

TRADITIONAL LEAN MARGIN: +9 TRAD

Genre: Action/Crime/Thriller • Platform: Netflix

The 2025 Verdict

127 films. The average score margin across the 2025 dataset is approximately +6 TRAD, placing 2025 as a modestly traditionally coded year overall. But the averages hide the real story: 2025 was the most polarized year in VirtueVigil history. The top 10 most traditional films average +30 TRAD. The top 10 most woke average -12 WOKE. The political sorting in Hollywood output has never been more visible or more stark.

Faith films and Asian animation dominated the traditional end: Ne Zha 2, The King of Kings, The Chosen: Last Supper, Brave the Dark, and David all scored STRONGLY TRADITIONAL. On the other end, Zootopia 2 delivered the most aggressively ideological animated film in Disney history at -38 WOKE, with Bugonia and Clown in a Cornfield rounding out the most progressive titles of the year.
